"What's for dinner?"
Have you ever noticed how some people will answer this question? They'll say, "We're having hamburgers," or "We're having fried chicken." Dinner is often meatloaf or salmon, pork chops or steak. Because meat, poultry, and fish traditionally are the focus of meals, some people think dinner just wouldn't seem right without a big chunk of protein on the table - with a vegetable and a salad filling secondary slots.
For teens like Danielle, though, that attitude toward food is a thing of the past. For more than half her life, this 17-year-old has been a vegetarian. Danielle has no intention of reverting to her former eating habits. So what made her choose this way of life, when it seems that so many people around her are chowing on Big Macs?
